Title - Using the Implicit Association Test to Detect Deception
Speaker - Linda Nguyen
Previous research suggests that people are only accurate at detecting lies 54% of the time — barely more than half the time. Recent research suggests lie detection at an implicit level might be more accurate. This study replicates these findings and then take these findings a step further by adding neuroimaging analyses which have not been present in previous implicit deception studies as well as a cultural component examining cross-cultural lie detection.
