The Center for Teaching and Learning and the Multicultural Center-Diversity Education Program presents
Implicit Bias in the Classroom with Danny Cordova, Multicultural Center, Diversity Education Programs
Implicit bias refers to the attitudes or stereotypes that affect our understanding, actions, and decisions in an unconscious manner. These biases, which encompass both favorable and unfavorable assessments, are activated involuntarily and without our awareness or intentional control. This presentation will examine research on implicit bias and the effects of bias in the classroom and on our personal lives. We will explore ways to be mindful of our Implicit Biases as a means towards positively enhancing our multicultural interactions.
