Pi Day Celebration

Please join us as we celebrate the Pi Day on Saturday, 3.16.19, 3-6:30pm.

 

Here is a tentative schedule (3-5pm FN2.102)

  • 3D Printing Mathematics

  • Geometry of Flight: Classical Greek Architecture, Satellite Orbits, and the Search for a Missing Airplane
    John Zweck
  • Why Do Cats Always Land on Their Feet?

  • Buffon’s Needle Problem
    Nathan Williams and Maxim Arnold

 

After the talks, pies/pizzas will be served at the FO 2nd Floor Atrium, together with mathematical interaction, games, mathematical models and other fun activities.

 

All mathematically curious students, their teachers, and parents are welcome. Please follow the Pi Day event page link to register.

 

The registration is free of charge, but mandatory in order to attend the Pi Day event.
