Graduate Professional Week Day1: Teaching as a Transferable Skill
Monday, Oct. 7, 2019
noon - 1 p.m. Location: MC 2.410

Join us for a discussion of how learning to teach is a valuable skill for all graduate students to develop, whether pursuing a teaching career or something in engineering, business, science, or the arts. Outstanding teachers use skills needed by researchers and other communicators and project managers. Beyond the obvious, such as being able to explain ideas clearly, additional teaching-relevant skills include supervising others, identifying useful problem-solving strategies, time management, collaboration, self-discipline for writing, and writing for lay audiences and people who read grant proposals.

Monday, October 7 from 12:00pm - 1:00pm
McDermott Auditorium, McDermott Library, MC 2.410
Lunch will be provided while supplies last
