Diversity Poetry Slam

Poet, spoken word artist, and award-winning teacher Joaquin Zihuatenejo will host three Poetry Slam diversity workshops to help improve students' story composition and performance skills.

The job of the poet is to reveal oneself and bring wholeness to the poet and the reader. In this poetry slam, students will reveal great moments of joy or struggle in their lives while telling the world what that joy or struggle taught them about the possibility of hope. Poet, spoken word artist, and award-winning teacher Joaquin Zihuatenejo will host three Poetry Slam diversity workshops to help improve students' story composition and performance skills.

Poems may be performed by individual poets or in groups of two-four poets.
