(10 a.m. - 11 a.m.)

Education Abroad invites all students interested in participating in a UT Dallas exchange program to attend an Exchange Mobility Workshop, which is a required component of the application process. This session will include valuable information to help you prepare for an exchange program, including eligibility, deadlines, competitve process, credit transfer, and more. You will also get the chance to meet other students who plan to participate in exchange.

OPT Workshop for F-1 Students Thursday, Dec 13
(2:30 p.m. - 3:45 p.m.) Location: SSB 3.107.

Completion of in-person or eLearning OPT workshop is now required to apply for Post-Completion OPT. Learn about the OPT application process, employment and travel considerations, and reporting requirements.  For application information visit the ISSO Optional Practical Training webpage.

Education Abroad: Pre-Departure Orientation Friday, Dec 14
(9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.)

Education Abroad invites all students who plan to study abroad in the next semester to attend a Pre-Departure Orientation.  This is a required component of the application process, and will include valuable information to help you prepare for your study abroad experience.  Topics include: Travel Tips and Logistics, Risk and Safety, Health and Wellness, Cultural Adjustment, and Final Thoughts and Reminders. 

Each session will last 2.5 hours.  All attendees are encouraged to bring their cell phones, which will be used for an activity.  We look forward to seeing you there!

*Note: Students participating in a group UTD faculty led program will attend a group pre-departure orientation.  Contact your program leader for date/time.

Education Abroad: Peer Advising Friday, Dec 14
(10 a.m. - 2 p.m.)

Education Abroad Peer advisors are ambassadors of the Education Abroad office. They work closely with the team to assist students in navigating the Comets Abroad portal, help students learn how to distinguish one program from another and share their personal study abroad experience to expose students to the growing global community.  We invite all students interested in studying abroad to speak with a peer advisor for a student perspective of the study abroad experience.

Celebrating Christmas in the US Friday, Dec 14
(1 p.m. - 3 p.m.)

Join Intercultural Programs for a special event to learn all about American Christmas traditions. Learn to make a gingerbread house, decorate cookies, and indulge in a hot cocoa bar!

International Student Orientation Tuesday, Dec 18
(9 a.m. - 1 p.m.)

For international students (all visa types) starting UT Dallas in Spring 2019.

Required for F-1 and J-1 visa holders.

Students must arrive for check-in between 8:15am and 8:45am.

The one-time $50 Orientation Fee is charged along with your tuition and fees after you attend Orientation.

In addition to International Student Orientation, Pre-Arrival Modules are required for all F-1 and J-1 students from overseas. Access the modules through eLearning:
