Education Abroad Peer advisors are ambassadors of the Education Abroad office.  They work closely with the team to assist students in navigating the Comets Abroad portal, help students learn how to distinguish one program from another and share their personal study abroad experience to expose students to the growing global community.  We invite all students interested in studying abroad to speak with a peer advisor for a student perspective of the study abroad experience.

Peace Corps Prep Program Information Session Wednesday, Feb 21
(3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.) Location: Student Services Building, Room 3.107.

The Peace Corps Prep Program is a unique opportunity for UT Dallas undergraduate students to combine their coursework, volunteer service, and hands-on experience while advancing toward a certificate offered by the Peace Corps.

OPT Workshop for F-1 Students Thursday, Feb 22
(2:30 p.m. - 3:45 p.m.) Location: SSB 3.107.

Completion of in-person or eLearning OPT workshop is now required to apply for Post-Completion OPT. Learn about the OPT application process, employment and travel considerations, and reporting requirements.  For application information visit the ISSO Optional Practical Training webpage.

Education Abroad: Global Chat Thursday, Feb 22
(4 p.m. - 5 p.m.) Location: Multicultural Center Conference Room .

Education Abroad and the Multicultural Center invites all students interested in study abroad to participate in an informal session to discover the opportunities UT Dallas offers.  Attend this one-hour session where you will learn about study abroad opportunities, scholarships, application process and more presented by the Education Abroad Ambassador. 

Journey From F-1 to H-1B and Beyond Thursday, Feb 22
(5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.) Location: Galaxy Room A.

Use the immigration process to your advantage! On Tuesday, February 28 at 5:30pm in the SU Galaxy Room A, learn about the secrets and strategies for U.S. full-time employment for international students: Extension of F-1 status under cap-gap regulations, transition from OPT to H-1B and Permanent Residency, and how to explain the benefits of sponsorship to your potential employer.

Education Abroad: The Atlantis Project Friday, Feb 23

Overseas Travel for International Students Workshop Tuesday, Feb 27
(2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.) Location: SSB 3.107.

Do you plan to travel outside of the U.S. over the break?  The ISSO international student advisors will hold a travel workshop for international students interested in or planning to travel overseas.  They will give valuable information on topics including renewing your visa and re-entering the U.S.  Also, bring your most recent I-20 or DS-2019 and a picture ID, and the advisors will provide travel signatures and status letters for those students who need them.
