Resources for You and Your Students

Classroom Career Learning Experiences

Invest in your students’ futures by building up their career readiness. You already work hard to ensure your students are academically prepared for success. We can help you ensure your students are workplace ready by helping them strengthen their job search skills and soft skills.

Use the Classroom Career Learning Sessions form to see ways we can help guide your class into career readiness. Feel free to leave notes in the Comments section on the form to further personalize the session to your students’ needs. Please note that all requests must be submitted using the form at least 10 business days before the proposed date, and that all requests are granted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Career Advising for Students

Is your student unsure of their major or career? Struggling to find a job? Wanting to network better? A one-on-one strategy session with a consultant to learn about career exploration assessments or job search techniques can help. Direct your student to book an appointment on Handshake to meet with a Career Consultant either virtually or in-person.

Am I Career Ready Assignment

FOCUS 2 is a self-guided assessment available free to UTD students. Use the link above to log in or create an account. Be sure to use your UTD email address and the access code, utdcomets.

Once logged in, students will then take the “Am I Career Ready” assessment.

The “Am I Career Ready” assessment is designed to assess how much NACE career-readiness competencies students have developed. For each competency, Focus 2 also offers suggestions on what actions students can take in order to strengthen that particular competency.
