Establishing an endowed fund helps build a strong, successful future for UT Dallas and the community, which benefits from a strong center of education, research and more. With an endowment, your gift is invested, but never spent. Distributions from endowed gifts provide a consistent source of support, despite fluctuations in the economy, reductions in state support and external influences that make financial impact on the University. Donors may choose from a variety of endowed funds, all of which may be paid over a period of up to five years as long as the minimum level required for establishment is met.
• Dollar amounts listed represent minimum levels to establish an endowed fund.
• A pledge to establish an endowment may be completed over a period of up to five years.
• Endowments may be made through an estate gift.
• All endowments are established through a formal gift agreement and subject to approval by the UT System Board of Regents.
At the heart of every great university are scholars whose work is supported by endowed funds. Professorships and chairs create opportunities for UT Dallas to attract and retain outstanding faculty members who will enhance students’ academic experiences and the institution’s reputation.

UT Dallas provides need and merit-based scholarships for undergraduates and fellowships for graduate students. Donors may establish a scholarship/fellowship with specific criteria for recipients, such as academic merit, financial need, major or course of study, residency status, community service and campus involvement.
These permanent funds provide ongoing, unrestricted support for any school, academic department, research center or other campus unit. Donors may change their Opportunity Fund if the fund balance surpasses the minimum amount required for a restricted purpose, such as a scholarship or chair.
These funds ensure that the physical transformation of campus will endure as UT Dallas continues to grow. Distributions from these funds help maintain new trees, water features and outdoor seating areas.
|Campus Enhancement Fund||From $5,000 to $100,000|
Donors with a special interest may customize an endowment to support nearly any purpose, such as a specific field of research, a lecture series, faculty, staff or student awards, and other programs.
