Women Leading in Diversity Awards

The Office of Diversity and Community Engagement hosted its annual Women Leading in Diversity networking luncheon in partnership with the UT Dallas Women Employee Resource Group. Three campus figures and one community champion were recognized for their work in promoting diversity and inclusion at the University. Kathryn Matheson, global senior director of research and development for snacks at PepsiCo, served as the event’s keynote speaker and was recognized for her contributions as well. She provided insights on creating value in the workplace, paving the way for others, lessons learned along the way in her career and the importance of diversity and community outreach initiatives.

The ceremony, held in the McDermott Suite, honored the following individuals:

• Meagan Moakes, director of community development for RevTech Ventures.

• Diana Briones, graduate student in the School of Arts and Humanities.

• Dresden Goldberg, assistant director for the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

• Dr. Meghna Sabharwal, associate professor of public affairs in the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences and program head for public and nonprofit management
