A Campus Transformed

With those words from former President David E. Daniel in 2010, UT Dallas celebrated the start of a new chapter in its history by dedicating a two-year redesign project that has transformed central campus. The $30 million enhancement, which included an estimated 150,000 hours of construction labor, was made possible by private philanthropic support.

The project was led by landscape architects Peter Walker and Partners (PWP), a world-renowned design firm chosen for its understanding of Dallas and for its record of visionary work in venues ranging from university campuses to corporate headquarters to private gardens. In addition to the new physical expression of excellence, the project addresses one of the specific goals set by the University's strategic plan under "Initiative 6: Making a Great City Greater: Enhance the physical appearance of campus."
