Graduate Student Named Emerging Scholar

Trang Hoang, a doctoral student in public affairs, has been selected as a 2018 NASPAA Emerging Scholar. She will be honored at the NASPAA Annual Conference in Atlanta in Georgia.

NASPAA, which stands for Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration, is a global accreditor of master’s degrees in public policy, public affairs, public administration and nonprofit management. Its mission is to ensure excellence in education and to promote the ideal of public service.

Hoang is a graduate teaching assistant in the Public and Nonprofit Management Program, and previously served as an Archer Fellow in Washington D. C and 2018 American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) Founder Fellow. Her research and teaching interests are in the areas of budgeting and financial management in public and nonprofit sectors, and human resource management with a focus on diversity management. She has published in Public Administration Review and Social Science Journal. Hoang is currently on the academic job market.
