Deciding on GIS

Maps have always fascinated me and I could stare and analyze them never-endingly. Consequently, GIS is an amazing interdisciplinary skill that allows me to work with data and maps in any field, which has always seemed like the obvious choice for my interests and background.

My EPPS Success

Having the privilege of being taught by world class professors and learning about their research and interests has allowed me to be successful in my courses, my internship at the Securities and Exchange Commission, and has helped me boil down on a potential thesis topic.

Plans for the Future

After completing my Master's Thesis, I plan on contributing to the field of GIS in the intelligence or private sector while advancing its popularity in today’s mass culture.

Advice to Prospective EPPS Students

Research the field you are studying, the job you aspire to work in after you graduate, and plan your educational courses and activities accordingly. Talk to current students and alumni about the courses they have taken and think of how those courses would fit into your plans. Also read a lot about what has been written in your field. However, do not take for granted socializing and meeting new people. And most importantly, join the GIS Student Organization!

Other Interests

My other interests include: watching Olympic Curling, traveling and searching for old maps, keeping up to date on news of foreign direct investments around the world, as well as the Warsaw Stock Exchange activities.
