Viva Volunteer provides students the opportunity to serve their community on national Make a Difference Day, which is set for Saturday, Oct. 24.
During Viva Volunteer, students spend the morning engaging in a group service project at a local agency in need. In 2014, 409 student volunteers helped save area groups more than $47,000 in labor costs.
Students looking to make a difference this year can register for a service location beginning in early October via the Viva Volunteer website. Spots are limited and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information and to see a complete list of service opportunities available this semester, visit the Office of Student Volunteerism website.
