Department Highlight: Student Health Center
The Student Health Center is a great on-campus resource to help your collegian stay well this winter. Located on the fourth floor of the Student Services Building, the center provides both primary and preventative health care to currently enrolled students.
The center’s staff of licensed medical providers is committed to keeping students healthy and overlooking their medical needs. The center services include:
- Treatment of chronic stabilized diseases
- Diagnosis and treatment of general medical illnesses
- Minor emergency care
- Routine check-up and sports physicals
- Certain immunizations
- Referrals for X-ray, ultrasound, MRI and other specialized tests
There also is laboratory testing for diagnostic purposes, limited pharmacy services and occasional dental care.
The center serves students who have paid the required medical services fee, which allows students to schedule office visits at no additional cost. Nominal fees are assessed for lab work, medications, some medical supplies and other procedures determined to be necessary by the medical provider.
Ask your collegian to contact the Student Health Center at 972-883-2747 to set up an appointment as needed, or visit the center’s website for more information.
