Chapter 33: Post 9/11 GI Bill

The Post 9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33) provides benefits for students who served in the military on active duty for at least 90 aggregate days after September 10, 2001, or if the student was discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. You must have received an honorable discharge.

This benefit provides up to 36 months of educational benefits, payable for up to 15 years after release from active duty. Some individuals are also eligible to transfer their Chapter 33 benefits to an eligible dependent.

For more information regarding benefits available under this program, visit the GI Bill website.

UT Dallas will provide a Do Not Drop indicator on your student account if all required documents are received by the published deadlines.  This will prevent your courses from being dropped while we wait on payment from the VA.

Complete certification requests received by the published deadline for the term will be worked in the order they are received.

Documents may be submitted by fax: 972-883-2947 or email: [email protected].
