Turkish Student Organization Scholarship

Description:

The Turkish Student Organization Scholarship was established for undergraduate or graduate students in any degree program. Applicant must demonstrate financial need and have at least two semesters remaining prior to graduation.  Among equally qualified applicants, a preference may be given to applicants who have a working knowledge of the Turkish language and who have received all or part of his/her preparatory education in the country of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kirghizstan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Bosnia, Albania, or Georgia or have some other connection to any one of these countries through their family or work. A minimum award of $1,000 per year may be given and cannot be combined with any other forms of financial aid. This scholarship will be awarded on a competitive basis by a committee duly appointed by the president of UT Dallas.

Applicant must:
  1. Submit a minimum 300-word narrative describing your education, work experience, or family connection to Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kirghizstan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Bosnia, Albania, or Georgia, a brief statement of any financial hardship, and how this scholarship will add to your educational and career goals.
  2. Submit a resume.
  3. Submit one letter of recommendation.
  4. Demonstrate financial need by having a current FAFSA or TASFA on file in the Office of Financial Aid or completing a Financial Statement for UTD Scholarships.
