Anselme Thierry Bony Scholarship

Description:

The Anselme Thierry Bony was established for undergraduate and graduate students. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA, and have at least two semesters remaining prior to graduation. Among equally qualified applicants, a preference may be given to applicants who received all or part of their preparatory education in the Côte d’Ivoire, are dependents of individual(s) from the Côte d’Ivoire, have some other connection to Côte d’Ivoire through their family or work, or have a demonstrated interest and knowledge of the Ivorian culture. The recipient will be encouraged to volunteer with the Association of Ivorians in Texas. A minimum award of $1,000 per year may be given and cannot be combined with any other forms of financial aid. This scholarship will be awarded on a competitive basis by a committee duly appointed by the president of UT Dallas.

Typically opens in March and closes in May. Award is for the subsequent academic year.

Students must:
  1. Submit a minimum 300 word narrative describing why applicant should receive scholarship and how it will add to educational goals.
  2. Must also include a brief description of your education, your work or family experience and/or connection to Côte d’Ivoire.
  3. Submit a resume
  4. Submit a letter of recommendation
  5. Current FAFSA on file in the Office of Financial Aid or completed Financial Statement for UTD Scholarships.
  6. Submit complete application by May 4, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.
