NASIM Foundation Scholarship

Description:

The NASIM (North American Society of Indian Muslims) Foundation Scholarship was established for undergraduate and graduate students. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need. Among equally qualified applicants, a preference may be given to applicants who have completed all or part of their secondary education in India or applicants who are active in the Muslim Students Association. A minimum award of $1,000 per year may be given and cannot be combined with any other forms of financial aid. The award of this scholarship does not alter the residence status of the recipient in so far as tuition charges are concerned. This scholarship will be awarded by a committee duly appointed by the president of UT Dallas.

Applicant must:
  1. Submit a minimum 300-word narrative describing your education, work experience or family connection to India, and a brief history of your life experience, in particular, a hardship or crisis you are experiencing or have experienced, and how this scholarship will add to your educational and career goals.
  2. Demonstrate financial need by having a current FAFSA or TASFA on file in the Office of Financial Aid or completing a Financial Statement for UTD Scholarships available here.
Complete application must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on the posted deadline.
