Hiring Freeze

Governor Greg Abbott issued a hiring freeze for positions supported by state funds effective Jan. 31. It has taken some time to review and assess how this unexpected directive will impact UT Dallas. The Office of Budget and Finance (OBF) has been working diligently to review the funding sources for all faculty, staff and student jobs so we may proceed in filling positions. Once determined, the Provost Office, the Office of Human Resources and the Career Center will be working as quickly as possible to inform hiring managers of the status of their pending positions.

A hiring freeze FAQ page provides information for concerned campus colleagues. It also will be posted on the OBF website, and updated as necessary pending further developments.

For questions regarding a funding source, please contact your budget analyst.
