In 1972, just three years after the Stonewall riots in New York City, a festive group of between 250 and 300 people in Dallas gathered to show their LGBT+ pride. They marched through downtown Dallas, waving signs and chanting gay rights slogans before a crowd that grew to about 3,000.

Today, the Dallas Pride Parade now has over 50,000 people in attendance. UT Dallas is proud to be one of the registered floats every year.
