Housing and Building Operations

The office of the associate vice president for Student Affairs oversees all housing operations on campus, including all residence halls and apartments.

The office also supervises Student Union staff and Comet Card program staff. In addition, the daily operations of the LEED platinum certified Student Services Building fall under the department.

Housing and Building Operations also oversees all new Student Affairs-related construction and renovation projects on campus.

Housing and Building Operations’ main goals include:

  • Providing quality oversight of all housing operations.
  • Improving housing conditions on campus through intensive, long-range capital planning.
  • Delivering quality facilities for UT Dallas students to eat, live and study.
  • Offering support to campus departments that are housed in the buildings Housing Operations oversees.

Room Reservation System

Registered student organizations, staff and faculty are required to use the Student Affairs Room Reservation System to request facilities and services in the Student Union, the Student Union Mall, the residence halls and the Student Services Building. Student organizations must also use this system to reserve space in all other campus buildings.
