The new UT Dallas specialty license plate allows faculty and staff to show their Comet connection and support student scholarships at the same time. With every $30 specialty plate purchase or annual renewal, the University receives $22 that will go toward funding student scholarships.

For an additional $40 fee, you can take your license plate to the next level and personalize it with your name, favorite Comet slogan, catchphrase or year of graduation. Read more

Golfers to Hit the Links for Scholars at UT Dallas Tournament
The 23rd Annual UT Dallas Scholarship Tournament is set for Friday, April 29, at Firewheel Golf Park in Garland. The event benefits the Academic Bridge Program, Betty and Gifford Johnson Graduate Scholarship, and Patti Henry Pinch Scholarship for Undergraduate Research.

Over the years, tournament proceeds have raised the market value of these endowments to more than $520,000. The endowments assist undergraduates with educational expenses, help graduate students attend academic conferences, and prepare first-generation college students for life at UT Dallas.

Leading up to the event, The Practice Tee will host UT Dallas Day from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 7. Students, faculty and staff are invited to use the facility’s putting green, par-3 course and driving range. Golf clubs, food and drinks will be provided.

Compliance Training Deadline is Less Than a Week Away

The Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance reminds employees to complete compliance training by Monday, Feb. 29. The mandatory training is accessible on eLearning behind the NetID sign-on. Longtime Faculty Member, Associate Dean Dies

Dr. Dachang Cong
Dr. Dachang Cong, associate dean for undergraduate studies in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies and a longtime UT Dallas faculty member, died on Jan. 21 at age 65.

Cong began his career at UT Dallas in 1991 after earning his PhD in anthropology from Yale University. He became a popular faculty member who taught courses on cultures, globalization and digital technology’s effect on the cultures and economies of China, Japan and the United States.

As associate dean, Cong worked closely with the Healthcare Studies program that launched in 2012. He also directed the American Studies program. Read more

Zagster Bike Program Expansion
The Zagster bike sharing program has expanded to include three new campus locations. The new stations are near Green Hall, the Naveen Jindal School of Management and the walkway between parking lots A and B. Learn more on the Office of Administration website.

Free Self-Defense Classes
