Innovation and Technology Summit 2018

The Office of Information Technology will host its third annual Innovation & Technology Summit on Wednesday, May 16, at the Naveen Jindal School of Management (JSOM). The summit brings together IT innovators and consumers for enriching conversations and learning opportunities about teaching, community IT, research and collaborative partnerships. There will be several giveaway opportunities, a photo booth and door prizes, as well as a networking happy hour at the conclusion of the day. The event is free for students, faculty and staff, but registration is required.

On-Campus Mammograms Available on June 8

UT Southwestern Center for Breast Care

The UT Southwestern Mobile Mammography Unit will be on campus Friday, June 8, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the loading zone of Residence Hall South (RHS) off Rutford Avenue. To schedule an appointment, faculty, staff and spouses may call 214-645-2560 or 866-277-0710 with their health insurance information. New “LilyPad” Space Open in Synergy Park North 2

A sixth on-campus dedicated lactation space is now available in Synergy Park North 2 (SPN2 12.224) for parents who are nursing. The facilities, called “LilyPads,” are clean, secure and user-friendly spaces for students, staff, faculty and campus guests. The SPN2 location is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please contact Fatema Syeda for access.

The five other locations are in the Galerstein Gender Center (SSB 4.300), Founders Building (FO 3.102), Administration Building (AD 3.2C6) inside the Office of Research, the Bioengineering and Sciences Building (BSB 11.201), and the Research and Operations Center (ROC 2.200).

Lunch-and-Learn: Tips to Lower Your Tax Bill

Join the Wellness Committee and Voya Financial to learn about tax strategy options that can help improve your tax efficiency and lower your tax bill. The session will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, in Galaxy Rooms A and B (SU 2.602). Seating is limited, so reserve your seat and lunch by Monday, May 14.

The University is updating its Campus Master Plan and seeks input on the future composition of campus. Voice your opinions and ideas on what type of buildings or building enhancements are needed, or what services should be available. Please review previous plans and submit your comments online.

NSF CAREER Award Webinar
The Office of Research and Office of Graduate Studies will host a Coordinating Committee webinar on the National Science Foundation Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, in FA 2.206 to address questions about development and submission of proposals to the program. Research Office Unveils News Tools
The University has partnered with DMPTool.org to ease Data Management Plan (DMP) creation and review. Visit data.utdallas.edu for more information. Also, a new high-performance cluster called Callisto is now available to all researchers. Please fill out this form to request an allocation.

Lunch-and-Learn on Echo360 Lecture Capture Platform
Education Technology Services invites all faculty, staff, teaching assistants and research assistants to an interactive lunch-and-learn on Echo360, which is a newly available lecture capture platform with active learning components. This session will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, in JSOM 2.115. Sustainability Launches Online Tools
The Office of Sustainability offers tools for finding green services on campus. You can locate water bottle refilling stations and recycling locations on the Sustainability website.
