Mailing Options

As of May 15, 2020, the ISSO will no longer receive government mail for students from USCIS or the Social Security Administration. If the ISSO has already received documents for you, you may request to receive them by mail - utdallas.edu/isso/expmail/. After May 15, 2020, government mail sent to the ISSO on behalf of a student may be returned to sender.

If you have immigration documents at the ISSO which you are not able to collect in person, you have the following two mailing options:

Express Mailing

The ISSO can send your immigration documents by express mail. You must complete two steps to request express mail. First, you must place your order with eShip Global, using the instructions below. Second, you must notify the ISSO of your mailing request by completing the required eForm in iComet. The ISSO will send you a link to the required form in the approval email indicating your request has been processed.

If you choose express shipping and follow the instructions below, your credit card will be charged upon requesting the service.

You will need your UT Dallas ID, email address, phone number, mailing address and a valid credit card (Visa, Mastercard or Discover cards only.)

  1. Access the secure website https://study.eshipglobal.com.
  2. Create an account.
  3. Select The University of Texas at Dallas as your school.
  4. Enter your mailing address.
  5. In the Reference/Comments field you must specify what document you are requesting to be mailed (For example, Initial I-20, USCIS Mail, Reprinted I-20, etc.).
  6. Review your address and payment information. Errors in the information submitted will delay the shipping of your I-20 or DS-2019.
  7. Place your order.
  8. If you do not complete BOTH the required iComet eForm and the eShip Global order, your request will not be processed.

ISSO Processing Time for Express Mail Orders

Requests for express mailing received before 8 am will be mailed out by the end of the business day. Requests for express mailing received after 8 am will be sent out the next business day.

Please note that requesting express mail will not expedite the processing time for the item requested; express service only applies to the delivery time.

Regular Mailing

The ISSO can send your Form I-20, service letters, and other documents issued by the ISSO to you by regular mail, at no cost to you.  There is no tracking number for mail sent by regular mail.

Please note, this option is not available for EAD cards, SSN cards, receipt notices, or any other documents issued by an outside agency. The ISSO will only send these documents by express mail, as they are original, important documents.

After your request is processed, you will receive an email confirmation with a link to request regular mailing. The link will direct you to an iComet eForm to submit your regular mailing request.

Mailing times vary:  If you are outside of the U.S., your packet may take up to 2 – 4 weeks to reach you.  If you are in the U.S., it may take up to 5 business days to reach you.

Note: The ISSO will not send out Regular or Express Mail on days that the office is closed for student services. This includes university holidays, as well as office closures due to staff trainings and meetings.
