The newest graduates from The University of Texas at Dallas will celebrate their accomplishments during eight commencement ceremonies May 10-12 in the Activity Center.

Candidates for graduation this spring include 2,029 undergraduates, 1,755 master’s students and 95 doctoral recipients. Approximately 3,480 students are expected to participate in the ceremonies.

After this spring's commencement, the University will have conferred more than 113,000 degrees in its 48-year history.

The largest of UT Dallas’ eight schools, the Naveen Jindal School of Management, has the most candidates eligible to participate in spring commencement — 1,503 — spread across three ceremonies. The Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science has 929 candidates for its two ceremonies.

Next are the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences with 489; and the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics with 402. The School of Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communication has 179; the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences with 169; the School of Interdisciplinary Studies with 129; and the School of Arts and Humanities with 67.

In keeping with UT Dallas tradition, students have been chosen as commencement speakers. In addition, UT Dallas President Richard C. Benson, who will be attending his son's graduation out of town, will make a video address to the University's graduates, their families, friends and supporters. Interim Provost Inga Musselman will serve as the University’s host in his stead.

After each ceremony, graduates and guests will recess to the mall for Memories on the Mall. The event celebrates the University’s newest alumni with light refreshments, photo opportunities and a special gift for graduates.

Those unable to attend the ceremonies can watch a live video stream of the proceedings online.
