UT Dallas will host a Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) conference on Friday, April 23, that will explore the changing landscape that awaits technology professionals seeking new opportunities.

The Technical Professional Conference is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 23,  Executive Education Center on the first floor of the School of Management.

Dr. Mario Rotea, chairman of the UT Dallas mechanical engineering program, will discuss developments in mechatronics, or the integration of mechanical design, electronics and control algorithms to create products and processes.

Experts and researchers from area corporations will speak about trends in software engineering, social media, telecommunications, super-resolution image processing and ultra-low-power microcontrollers.

Presenting companies include Texas Instruments, Lennox Commercial, Raytheon,Verizon and Microsoft.
