UT Dallas Magazine Spring Cover 2012

The spring 2012 edition of UT Dallas Magazine won a gold award for best cover.

UT Dallas recently won multiple awards of excellence from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for projects ranging from News Center stories to magazine and website design.

CASE Southwest District IV includes several member educational institutions from a five-state region. UT Dallas was chosen among the best in several categories of communications outreach at an awards ceremony held in Fort Worth last month.

Communications manager LaKisha Ladson won two awards for writing, including a gold award for medical/scientific news for “New Research Could Mean Cellphones that See Through Walls.” She also earned a silver award for her medical/scientific writing collection. Ladson writes for the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science.

Communications specialist Chaz Lilly won a gold award for a short feature story titled, “Art in the Digital Age,” which appeared in the Spring 2012 UT Dallas Magazine. Lilly is also an alumnus of the School of Arts and Humanities at UT Dallas.

The UT Dallas Magazine won three awards, including a gold award for best cover for the Spring 2012 edition. LeeDon Moore, creative director in the Marketing Department of the Office of Communications, designed the cover. Moore is pursuing his master of fine arts degree from the Arts and Technology Program.

Moore was also recognized with a bronze award for the Kusch Lecture poster titled “The Malleable Brain,” and with an honorable mention for the Fall 2012 UT Dallas Magazine cover, “Breaking Through.”

That same issue of the UT Dallas Magazine was recognized with an honorable mention for overall design and content and included contributions from graphic designers Steve Chambers and Julianne Fowler.

Czarina Cando from the Division of Student Affairs won a gold award for the International Student Services Office website redesign. She earned a bachelor's degree in the ATEC program and will earn her MBA from UT Dallas in May.

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations was recognized with four awards — a silver award for the UT Dallas Alumni website redesign; a silver award for, “Realize the Vision: The Campaign for Tier One & Beyond,” in the category of Integrated Marketing Campaign; a bronze for, “The Rutford Challenge,” in the category of Project or Special Event; and a bronze award for the Aspire newsletter in the category of Newsletters/Tabloids/or Newspapers.

CASE is one of the world's largest nonprofit educational associations and includes more than 3,600 colleges and universities, primary and secondary independent and international schools, and nonprofit organizations in 76 countries.
