Dr. Constantine Konstans, a professor of accounting and information management in The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) School of Management, is co-chairing an international conference in Rome, Italy, this week that will examine ways technology can solve business problems.
Dr. Constantine Konstans As many as 400 academic and business leaders from throughout the world are expected to attend the 2002 international conference of the Global Business and Technology Association. The theme of the conference is “Beyond the Boundaries: Challenges of Leadership, Innovation, Integration and Technology.”
The meeting, to be held June 25-29, will be co-hosted by The Peter J. Tobin College of Business, St. John’s University, New York, and the Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of Economics, Moscow.
“The conference is designed to bring people from many countries together who share an interest and expertise in efficiently and effectively applying technology as a solution to business problems,” said Konstans. “Through papers, case studies, panel discussions and other forums, attendees will share different perspectives on, and unique approaches to, critical issues that impact global business.”
About one-quarter of the attendees will be from the U.S., with the remainder from numerous other countries, Konstans said.
Konstans, who earned a Ph.D. degree in Business Administration from Michigan State University, teaches classes at UTD in accounting for managers, strategic cost management and e-commerce strategy and control. He is also associate director of the Accounting and Information Management programs in the School of Management.
