Who decides whether my news item will be published?

The News Center managing editor decides whether your news item qualifies for the UT Dallas News Center. 

When will my news item appear?

Articles to be considered for the daily News Center e-mail generally must be received at least five days before a requested publication date. You may suggest a specific publication date for the News Center, but be aware that your submission is in competition with space restrictions and other submissions.

How do I get an event promoted?

Begin by being sure your event is posted in the Comet Calendar. (Read how to add your event.)  The Comet Calendar serves as the primary source for the Events section of News Center. To request publicity for an event to outside media outlets, contact the Office of Media Relations well in advance of your event date. The assistant vice president of communications decides whether the news item qualifies for promotion.
