How much brain power do you use when you perform a task? That’s what the NeuroPsychometric Research Lab (NPR Lab) is trying to understand in research at The University of Texas at Dallas, and the answer has important implications for healthy aging. We are a cognitive neuroscience lab studying the mental processes involved in using working memory and how those processes change during aging. We study the relationship between brain and behavior in healthy individuals with functional brain-imaging (fMRI) and neuropsychometric experiments. We also study brain function in individuals with neurological impairments in an effort to better determine how the impairments affect mental functions. To find out more about our research studies, see the Research section in the main menu.

The NPR Lab consists of three state-of-the-art laboratories in the DFW area: the Center for BrainHealth, The University of Texas at Dallas (Richardson, TX), and The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (Dallas, TX).
