Prospective Students

UT Dallas’ School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics offers degree programs for undergraduate and graduate students in biologychemistrygeosciencesmathematics and physics, as well as a graduate program in science/mathematics education. Our UTeach Dallas program offers undergraduate students the possibility of completing the requirements for high-school teacher certification alongside their degrees.

Collaborations with leading-edge industrial partners round out educational and research opportunities. Undergraduates are encouraged to participate in research alongside the faculty and graduate students. From the world-renowned Alan G. MacDiarmid NanoTech Institute, headed by Dr. Ray Baughman, to the William B. Hanson Center for Space Sciences — where Dr. John Hoffman helped discover water on Mars — the science education at UT Dallas is a hands-on, high-quality experience for undergraduates and graduate students alike. Our alumni go on to pursue careers in industrial, medical, public health, environmental and governmental organizations as well as in other universities.

UT Dallas Catalogs

The UT Dallas catalogs list the academic programs offered by the University.
Undergraduate Catalog
Graduate Catalog

The semester of a student’s official entry into a major determines which catalog requirements apply. Students are encouraged to meet regularly with an academic advisor to review their degree plan.

Opportunities are also available for students to complete Texas Teacher Certification requirements in biology, chemistry, earth science, life/earth science, mathematics and physics. Students who wish to be certified should consult UTeach Dallas and the Teacher Development Center for specific requirements.

Accreditation

The University of Texas at Dallas is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, masters and doctoral degrees. Contact SACSCOC for questions about the accreditation.
