Degree Requirements

At least 36 hours of the management course work beyond prerequisite courses is required, including 12 hours of basic business core courses and 24 hours of graduate accounting and information management courses. The M.S. in Accounting and Information Management degree is designed for students both with or without previous educational background in accounting and business� Within the M.S. in Accounting and Information Management degree program, the candidate may select one of seven concentrations. Candidates have the option of choosing a concentration that meets their needs based on their previous experience and future aspirations. Concentrations in (I) Financial Planning and Analysis, (II) Audit and Assurance Services, (III) Taxation Services and (IV) International Services are intended primarily for candidates who wish to emphasize financial accounting, auditing and tax subjects.� Non-business undergraduate degree holders who wish to obtain a broad exposure to financial accounting are advised to follow Concentration (I) Financial Planning and Analysis.� Concentrations in (V) Management Consulting and (VI) Information Management are designed for students who wish to specialize in consulting or financial analysis for information technology and software management.� ��Concentration (VII) in Professional Accounting is designed specifically for students without an undergraduate degree in accounting. Students must maintain a 3.0 grade point average in both core courses and in aggregate to qualify for the M.S. in Accounting and Information Management degree.

Basic Business Core (12 credit hours)
