Allow the Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN kernel extension on a Mac
Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN isn't connecting on Mac. It's installed correctly, but it won't connect.
To use the Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN on a Mac, you need to allow the VPN to install a kernel extention (kext).
- Open System Preferences
- Go to Security & Privacy
- In the General tab, click the lock icon at the bottom-left
- If you're prompted, enter your Mac username and password
- Once the lock is unlocked, click the Allow button next to where it says "System software from developer 'Palo Alto Networks' was blocked from loading."
Once that is complete, you should be able to connect to the VPN.
