Teams phones are rebooting when calls are answered

Impact:

When answering calls on Teams desk phones, specifically the CCX400 and CCX500, the Teams app will crash and cause the application to reboot.

Issues Accessing Multiple Microsoft 365 services

Impact:

Users may be unable to access any services that leverage Azure Active Directory (AAD) including Outlook, Microsoft Teams and Teams Live Events as well as Office.com. Additionally, Power Platform and Dynamics365 properties are also affected by this incident.

Current Status:

From Microsoft: After extended monitoring of our service, we have confirmed that the issue has been fully mitigated and is running within optimal service levels. If you remain impacted please engage with your support representatives to further assist with any additional issues.

Scope of Impact: Some videos in MS Stream are missing the transcript section. We believe only videos uploaded/recorded 8/28-9/1 are impacted at this time. The automatic closed captions (CC) are not impacted.

Impact: Users may have seen chat messages delayed up to 15 minutes in Microsoft Teams.
Final Status: [From Microsoft] Our investigation determined that a recently enabled feature intended to enhance our code deployment processes caused a subset of infrastructure to become unbalanced and operate inefficiently, resulting in impact. We’ve reverted this featured and confirmed via telemetry that the issue has been resolved.

Network Errors/Timeouts in Microsoft Stream

Impact: Users may receive network errors or timeouts when accessing videos in Microsoft Stream
Current Status: New uploaded videos are no longer seeing this issue. Downloading and replacing affected videos is resolving the issue at this time. Please contact the Help Desk if you have videos that are experiencing this issue (include the link to the video).
At this time, we are considering this issue resolved, although we continue to work with Microsoft on root cause and will monitor the issue to ensure impact does not increase.
Scope of Impact: Some videos in MS Stream are not playing. At this time we believe that the issue is only affecting a subset of Teams Meeting recordings. Users can try troubleshooting steps found here but that is not working for all videos.

Resolved: Some Course-Based Access Removed in Error

Impact: Office of Information Technology performed updates and maintenance on the system that provides access to resources based on a students’ course affiliation. An issue with the feed coming from our Peoplesoft system to our identity access management system caused this issue.
Current Status: All access has been restored as of 9:00 PM CDT.
Scope of Impact: This error will impact a subset of our students access to:

  • Access to course based Microsoft Teams
  • Access to computer labs, or
  • Other access provisioned based on course enrollments

Impact: Users may receive unexpected Test notifications on their Android mobile devices.
Current Status: Users may have received notifications that stated: “FCM Messages : Test Notifications” or other similar variations of this message. Our investigation shows no indication that these messages were malicious in nature; however, we recommend dismissing any of these notifications that were received during the event without interacting with them.
Scope of Impact: This issue may have potentially impacted any user with Microsoft Teams installed on an Android device.

Impact: Users may encounter problems within the following features:
Users may not be able access calendar from within Teams
Users may have difficulties scheduling meetings and/or live events
Users may have issues loading file lists
Users may not be able to create new teams & channels
Users may not be able to install apps
Users may have trouble issuing searches
Users may see delays in admin policy changes taking effect
Users may be unable to schedule live events
Final Status: Microsoft identified that impact was caused by a traffic routing issue, resulting in a spike of user requests to a section of newly configured networking infrastructure. They took the affected systems out of service to reroute user requests to alternate infrastructure. Microsoft confirmed the issue has been mitigated after monitoring the affected environment.

Resolved: Issues Joining Teams Live Events

Impact: Users may have been unable to view live event streams in Microsoft Teams. Users may have received an error screen indicating that they were experiencing a network issue.
Current Status: Microsoft confirmed that a third-party provider networking issue caused the impact. They rerouted traffic to healthy infrastructure and confirmed via monitoring that this action successfully mitigated the issue.

Current Status: Microsoft confirmed via internal monitoring that the restart process finished and the issue is mitigated. Root cause: An increase in user traffic was causing some users to be unable to use the recording feature for meetings in Microsoft Teams.
Scope of Impact: The problem occurred in the Microsoft Teams desktop and web client.

Impact: Users may have been intermittently unable to join Teams meetings that were hosted in the North American region.
Current Status: Microsoft confirmed that the configuration change to performance thresholds and traffic-management parameters has remediated impact. After a period of extended monitoring, Microsoft determined that this incident is resolved.
Scope of Impact: The majority of impact was to users attempting to join meetings hosted in the North America region, however, for a period of time, meetings hosted from the Australia region also were impacted.
