Exchange email service will continue to be offered on premises rather than moving to Office 365 for the time being.
Office Online: These are the browser based versions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and One Note. They allow you to view and edit files on any device within a web browser.
One Drive: This is an online file storage and sharing solution that is tightly integrated with the Office 2013 suite. You can easily save files to your OneDrive and then share them as needed wherever you may be!
Office 365 Email: You'll enjoy all the same features you do today with UTD Email and probably won't notice a difference once your mailbox is moved. However, your storage quota will increase from 1GB to 50GB! So no more worrying about managing your mailbox space.
Office ProPlus: This component of our license allows students to download the full Office 2013 suite on their various devices. You can install the software on 5 different devices! When you complete the installation, it requires you to login with your UTD account used for Office 365 access. This license is valid as long as you are an enrolled student at UTD. Once you are no longer enrolled in courses, you will no longer have editing capabilities to your files. If you do not purchase an individual license, all of your files go into "read only" mode. Therefore, you can view files but cannot make any changes to them.
We will email you with notification and instructions 14 days, 7 days, and 1 day prior to the migration of your email. We will do all that we can to make sure this is a smooth and successful process. Your UTD Email address will not be changed. Check this page periodically for any new information.
Your Zmail organization will be transferred to Office 365 including your folders and sub-folders. However, they will not be stored in your inbox. Your folders and the emails contained in them will be stored in separate folders. To access your desired folder, click on the more option on the left side of the screen. Scroll down and click on your migrated folder. To search for emails contained in these folders, make sure the folder is selected before you search rather than the inbox. The emails organized into Zmail folders and migrated will not be accessible from the regular inbox.

Yes. The complete UTD address book will still be available to you after the transition to Office 365.
Yes. Although you will need to login with your [email protected], your PEA will still function. Mail that is delivered to recipients within the utdallas.edu domain will show your email as your NetID, as this is what is used to identify you in the Global Address List (GAL). Mail that is delivered to outside resources will show as your custom PEA provided that you have enabled it in the NetID website. Please follow these instructions on how to Change Your Default “From” Address to enable your PEA to be your default email address. All mail sent to your PEA will be delivered as normal.
For most mobile device configurations, you will need to remove your current UTD e-mail setup from your device and reconfigure it using the instructions on the Configuration Instructions in this link.
Any item in a mailbox that is larger than 25 MB will not be migrated. If you have these items, we highly suggest you follow the instructions in this link.
