Lieutenant Diane Bartek
Lt. Bartek is the Commander of the Patrol Operations Division for the UT Dallas Police Department. Lt. Bartek started with UT Dallas in March of 2010. Lt. Bartek's oversight included the three patrol shifts that cover the University on a 24 hour, 7 days a week basis. In addition, she has command oversight over all patrol and fixed post Public Safety Officer Guard positions.
Prior to joining UT Dallas, Lt. Bartek was with the Richardson Police Department from 1982 – 2010. She served as a Youth Crimes Detective and a Patrol Officer. Lt. Bartek is certified Police Training Officer and was a senior trainer while in Richardson. Her training experiences and skills serve a valuable role in her position at UT Dallas. Lt. Bartek is a Certified Accident Investigator and Accident Reconstruction Expert recognized for courtroom testimony.
Lt. Bartek also served in special assignments in Case Review preparing cases for the Dallas and Collin County courts and in Police Planning where she assisted with policy development to qualify the Richardson Police Department to become a "Recognized Police Agency" with the Texas Police Chiefs Association.
Lt. Bartek places strong emphasis with her officers in the utilization of "police discretion" knowing that the University environment provides additional resources for enforcing sanctions on misconduct.
