The University of Texas System Board of Regents will select the next president of UT Dallas following a process that will collect input from a wide variety of University stakeholders. The UT System is leading the presidential search.

Updates on the Presidential Search

Feb. 29, 2016 – The University of Texas System Board of Regents named Dr. Richard Benson president of The University of Texas at Dallas. He will begin his role on July 15. Download full curriculum vitae pdf-icon

Jan. 25, 2016 – The University of Texas System Board of Regents named Dr. Richard Benson, currently the dean of Virginia Tech’s College of Engineering, as the sole finalist for the presidency of The University of Texas at Dallas.

Nov. 18, 2015 – The Search Advisory Committee met for the second time to narrow down a list of candidates. First round interviews with members of the Search Committee are scheduled to take place in December.

Sept. 15 – The Search Advisory Committee met for the first time to receive its charge and discuss process and timeline. The position specification was posted. 

Aug. 20 – UT Dallas Presidential Search Advisory Committee Announced

July 1 – Executive Vice President and Provost Hobson Wildenthal Appointed as President Ad Interim

May 6 – McRaven Taps Dr. David E. Daniel as Deputy Chancellor
