IRB Training Session: Best Practices For Success - A Research Coordinator's Perspective | MC 2.404 | March 28th, 2018, 10:00 AM | IRB Protocol Assistance Workshops

Federal regulations, UTD policy, Institutional Review Board requirements…oh my!  If the responsibility of compliance and thought of an IRB post-monitoring review makes your head spin, this presentation is for you.  Speakers (two current research coordinators from the Center of Vital Longevity) will share their perspectives and suggestions for day to day operations of a busy lab and effectively organizing data, documenting participant payment records, managing IRB related paperwork (informed consent documents, IRB paperwork, etc.) to ensure their protocols are in compliance with federal regulations and institutional policy.

IRB Training Session: Consent Language and a Participant’s Perspective | MC 2.404 | March 21st, 2018, 10:00 AM | IRB Protocol Assistance Workshops

Researchers should do their best to confirm participants are well-informed about the purpose, procedures, and what is required of them when enrolling in a research study. In order to anticipate the needs of research participants during the informed consent process, Investigators need to be able to step back and look at the study from a participant’s point of view. Join us in discussing:

  • Consent documents and procedures
  • The “reasonable person”  standard
  • Effectively communicating information about a research study
