ANNUAL EVENTS

The Science and Engineering Education Center hosts the following events annually:

1. EXPLORE ENGINEERING DAY

The Science and Engineering Education Center hosts EXPLORE ENGINEERING DAY every year (in the month of February), in collaboration with the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science.

Explore Engineering Day welcomes families and students from across the region for hands-on activities, educational demonstrations and fascinating tech talks by leading faculty and local engineering companies.

Explore Engineering Day is part of UT Dallas’ larger celebration of  Engineers Week – details of which will be updated later this year.

2. BEST ROBOTICS

The Texas BEST & UIL State Robotics Championship brings together champion teams from hubs in Texas and New Mexico every year.

UT Dallas and SEEC have worked with BEST of Texas Robotics and other organizations to stage this event in North Texas at venues such as the Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco, Texas.

The Science and Engineering Education Center (SEEC) handles the registration, exhibits and judging at the UT Dallas campus. The game, pits, practice rounds and award presentations are usually held every year at the Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco, TX.

BEST Robotics organizes annual robotics competitions that introduce middle- and high-school students to engineering, problem-solving and teamwork – providing a taste of what it’s like to work in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers.

The SEEC also hosts BEST workshops every year in June and July. Click here to know more.
