Service Changes in Response to Coronavirus/COVID-19 Outbreak

Various services have been modified to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus:

Dining

  • The Student Union Starbucks will be open this summer for carry-out orders, Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Unfortunately, we cannot provide seating at this time.

  • All other dining venues are closed.
  • UPDATED: You can once again order, change or donate a meal plan.

Bookstore

Rental textbook curbside dropoff.

The Bookstore can only accept online orders at this time. Orders are available for curb-side pick-up, or they can be shipped.

Rented textbooks can be returned Monday-Saturday, May 4-9 and May 11-16, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

  • No books will be accepted on rainy days.
  • Books must be dropped off at the tent located just outside the west doors of the Visitor Center and University Bookstore (VCB).
  • Anyone dropping off books must wear a face covering and practice social distancing.
  • No receipts will change hands. Check-in confirmations will be sent via email.
  • Checked-in books will be “quarantined” for three days to protect Bookstore staff.

Tech Store

The Tech Store can only accept online orders at this time. Orders are available for curb-side pick-up, or they can be shipped.

Mail Services / Central Receiving is still operating with reduced staff, but all incoming packages and mail will be sorted by department and stored in SB 1.2, where a department’s representative can pick it up by presenting a valid Comet Card.

All incoming mail will be held in quarantine for 24 hours before being processed.

Parking

  • Visitors to campus may park in Green or Housing parking spaces without a parking permit.
  • Parking permits can be purchased online.
  • Parking & Transportation staff are working remotely, but are available during our normal business hours at park@utdallas.edu.
  • Due to the transition to online classes, we are currently processing credits directly to student accounts for the remaining value of spring and summer parking permits. Details >

DART Rail

  • Anyone over the age of two must wear an appropriate face covering when using public transportation. Read the Order.
  • While physical DART [Dallas Area Rapid Transit] passes are not available at this time, DART GoPass® requests are being processed remotely, and these digital passes download directly to your mobile phone.
  • DART trains will be running 20 minutes apart starting April 6.
  • All indoor transit center waiting areas are closed, but outdoor waiting areas are still open. You are required to practice appropriate social distancing while waiting for your bus or train.
  • The lobby at DART Headquarters (1401 Pacific Ave) is closed to the public. This includes their Lost & Found office, which can be contacted at 214.749.3810. Likewise, the DARTmart store is closed, but GoPass® Tap Cards can still be purchased or reloaded at local retailers.

Booster Fuels

Booster Fuels has suspended fuel deliveries to UT Dallas, to concentrate on providing fuel to people working on the front lines of the coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak.
