As we close out our third week of class and head into the Labor Day weekend, we want to take a moment and remind you that no matter where you go or what you do, you are always a Comet. We all have a shared and continued responsibility to protect our campus community by taking care of ourselves and following the rules carefully and intentionally established for this purpose. Here are a few reminders to help you do so:
  • Continue to take the Daily Health Check even if you are away from campus. If you are not going to be present on campus, you answer one question and it takes only a minute.
  • Fill out the Self-Report Form if you have tested positive for COVID-19, have COVID-like symptoms, or were exposed to someone who has COVID. Even if you plan to be away from campus, it is essential that you do this.
  • The Labor Day holiday is NOT an exception to the rule prohibiting student gatherings. Students and student organizations are not permitted to gather on or off campus until further notice.
  • Wear a mask when you are on campus or around others, keep six feet of social distance and wash your hands often.
Many of you have done an excellent job taking personal responsibility to follow the rules and protect your peers. Those who are not complying with the above requirements will be referred to the Office of Community Standards and Conduct and may face disciplinary action. It only takes a small number of students failing to follow the rules to impact our entire campus.

We are in this together, as Comets United. If you have questions, please email us. Be safe and have a relaxing weekend!
