Student Transition Programs
Student Transition Programs strives to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students, families, and guests as we provide the framework for students to learn and develop, regardless of race, religion, ethnic origin, disability, gender identity or sexual orientation. We would like to share the statement below from our Multicultural Center which reflects the values and principles that are the core of our mission.
We stand in solidarity with our Black and African American community- especially during these troubling times as hatred, inequity, oppression, and marginalization has been heightened. Our office respects the profound ways that our community members of various cultures, backgrounds, and identities enrich our university community. We value the contributions you have made and we now challenge you to lean on each other, as we extend our support to you during these painful times.
Please remember we are all here for you.
Below are resources where you can learn more about diversity and inclusion on our campus, as well as assistance if you are struggling.

Student Transition Programs welcomes all new undergraduate students and their families to the University! We provide programming, services and involvement opportunities specific to first-year students, transfer students, sophomores, juniors and seniors.
Sophomore
The Sophomore Year Experience includes programming and activities designed especially to help students through their second year as a Comet.
Junior
The Junior Year Experience program provides opportunities that empower juniors with tools to refine their leadership skills and prepare for their chosen career path.
Senior
The Senior Year Experience is designed to help seniors celebrate their successes and feel better prepared to take the next steps toward achieving their life goals after college.
Transfer Services
Transfer students have different needs than freshmen, and Transfer Student Services is here to help them successfully transition to their new home at the University, with support for both new and returning transfer students.
Orientations
Student Transition Programs offers orientations throughout the year for incoming students:
International Student Orientation is offered by the International Center.
Orientation Leaders
The Orientation Leader program maintains the standards of excellence of and connects new students to UT Dallas by providing memorable first-year experiences, an inclusive welcoming environment, social programming, leadership opportunities and a sense of personal involvement in the campus community. Through insightful leadership and the cultivation of spirit and tradition, the Orientation Leader program is the catalyst for new student development and success. If you are interested in applying for the Orientation Leader program, please visit us on Facebook.
Comet Camp
The three days of Comet Camp are a time for meeting new friends, learning about UT Dallas, reflecting on the journey ahead, and most importantly, having fun.
Road Warriors
Road Warriors is a program just for commuter students. We host events to get you involved on campus and target your needs as a student who commutes to campus.
Comet Families
Comet Families is an avenue for family members and parents of UT Dallas students to get information about campus, find out about special events and obtain resources about issues facing their college student.
Family Day
Family Day is Comet Families' largest event, and a tradition that brings students and their families together for a full day of fun. Meet other families, enjoy a catered lunch and find out what's happening on campus.
