3-D Printer

The Fortus 400 3- D printer produced by Stratasys is available in the UTDesign Studio for corporate sponsors, faculty, students and anybody else who needs a prototype to be built.

The Fortus 400 uses the FDM printing process and builds parts as large as 406 x 355 x 406 mm (16 x 14 x 16 in.). With four layer thicknesses to choose from (.005, .007, .01, and .013 inches) users can fine-tune detail resolution and build speed; or a balance of both.

We offer 7 different materials to build your object (see table below).

The machine shop manager is in charge of processing all 3-D jobs. To submit your work for printing, email Gene Woten with the following information:

Your work cannot be processed if the file sent has not the right file extension. ONLY .STL files can be printed.

After your work has been submitted, you will get a cost estimate from us. It is not after we have a confirmation from you accepting the estimate cost that the printing process starts.

Once your order is ready, you will be contacted by us to come and pick your product from our Studio.
