The Military and Veteran Center has community partners that facilitate students’ transition to civilian life. The following are active partners:
Center for Brain Health
Each semester, the MVC coordinates Warrior SMART training with the UT Dallas Center for Brain Health’s Brain Performance Institute. Go to the warrior training website for more information.
Collin County Veteran Services Office
The MVC has coordinated monthly visits from the Collin County Veteran Services Officer. Students can inquire about a variety of issues including: Disability Claims & Appeals, VA Home Loans, Review of Military Discharge, Survivor Benefits and more. Go to the county website for more information.
Military Veteran Peer Network (MVPN)
A peer facilitator from MVPN visits campus for a weekly discussion group. Topics include stress management, combat/military experiences and transitioning to civilian life. Go to the MVPN website for more information.
Cohen Military Family Clinic at Metrocare
Outreach coordinators from the Cohen Clinic visit campus for the Peer Advisor for Veteran Education (PAVE) training each semester. The Cohen Clinic provides free counseling to military service members and their family. Go to the Cohen website for more information.
