Poras T. Balsara received the L.E.E. diploma in electronics
from The Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute (VJTI), Bombay, India
in 1980 and the B.E. (electrical) degree with distinction from The
University of Bombay, India in 1983. He received his M.S. and Ph.D.
degrees from the Penn
in 1985 and 1989, respectively.
In 1989 he joined the Erik Jonsson School
of Engineering and Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas and is
currently a Professor of Electrical Engineering. He co-directs research
activities within the Integrated Design, Engineering,
and Algorithmics (IDEA) and the Renewable Energy and Vehicular Technology (REVT)
Labs. His research interests include,
power electronics, design of energy efficient circuits and systems, VLSI design,
and application-specific architectures. He holds patents and has published
extensively in leading peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He is a
Fellow of the IEEE.
