The objective will be to find the current in the 10 ohm resistor in Fig 4-1 using PSpice.

 

Hints:

 

In the prelab procedure for experiment 4, students should use PSpice to simulate the circuit.

 

Procedure 14 and 15 in the preparation section must be completed correctly.

 

14. Select Place/Ground from the Place menu, click on GND/CAPSYM

 

15. Type '0' on the "Name:" box and then click OK. Then place the ground. Wire it if necessary.

 

You can use Place/Ground (shortcut key: Shift+G) option of pull down menu in OrCAD Capture in order to place "Ground". Make sure that procedure 15 is completed correctly.  Your simulation will generate error messages if the setting is wrong.

 

Students must turn in the printouts of circuit schematics and the output file ('yourfilename.out' in working directory) that are generated with OrCAD.

You can open the output file with text editor software.  Bring a floppy disk to lab with you to save your output files.
