Our mission is to enhance the quality of experience for international students by providing timely, consistent and accurate service through individual advising, the processing of paperwork and outreach efforts.

New Students

Do you have questions about applying for a visa, or getting your I-20? What is Dallas like? Where would you live? Where is orientation? Find answers to all these questions and more in the New Students section.

Current Students

The procedures and policies an international student must follow are numerous. Get help on the paperwork puzzle in the Current Students section.

Health Insurance

International students are required to carry health insurance and evacuation/repatriation coverage while enrolled at UTD. Find out the policy details, how to access medical care, and waiver instructions in the Health Insurance section.

Events and Resources

The International Student Services Office realizes that moving to a new country can be an exciting and challenging experience. In order to help you with your transition, we regularly schedule social and cultural events along with informational workshops and seminars.

Int'l Student Special Services Fee

The INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SPECIAL SERVICES FEE is used for the ongoing support of students with non-immigrant statuses and in accord with federal regulations.  It is a mandatory fee for any student holding a non-immigrant visa status, and is assessed at the time of registration.  Students who transfer from a non-immigrant status to an immigrant classification of US Citizen, Permanent Resident, pending Permanent Resident, Asylee, Refugee, or Parolee are required to submit proof of the change to the UTD Registrar’s Office and International Student Services Office, and will subsequently not be assessed the fee.  If the appropriate documentation is submitted prior to Census day of a semester, the fee for that semester will be refunded based on the tuition refund schedule as published in the UTD Academic Calendar.
